We also play another similar game, which requires less preparation (and during the week you can play both). It’s a live version of the computer game Among Us designed especially for the castle that we play in real life instead of screen. It is also a lot of fun to do it with people who already know each other.
We do treasure hunts in the park as well. If you guys are into games like that, we have great options and we can facilitate for you (it can also be only part of the group if not everyone is keen)
@matheus It sounds like there are lots of opportunities for recreation at the chateau, including a gym. And I’m sure we can find somewhere to work out in Paris near the venue/hotel.
We have a small but well equipped gym in the Chateau including weights of different sizes up to an olympic bar and a squat rack, bench etc. In summer it’s also possible to take some the equipment out and organise interval workouts in groups of 4-5-6 people.
Lots of running routes too. Our favourite is to combine running and a dip in the ocean after.
@team@bebop@falcon@serenity (we don’t seem to have a @deathstar group we can ping?) Reminder to vote! I will be closing the survey for the location on Friday, so if you don’t you will lose your vote
I guess it depends how much you run It seems to be 17 km from the castle, so that is indeed a good jog https://maps.app.goo.gl/uouD9MgHtXoQcc4j8 If there are bikes, either at the castle or to rent, that might be more accessible?
Everyone comes again this year Though given how many talks have been refused, we might need to reassess again next year - maybe it would make more sense to only send those with talks accepted, and focus on the coworking week for the whole team.
Haha some run 20k+ or go by bicycles, but the majority of us drive 10min and enjoy the nice running routes close to the ocean (so you can do the length you like), then dip and drive back
There are also running routes around the village that can be reached without a car
And it looks like there are enough people who are ok either sharing a room or in a tent in the park to allow to actually select that location - thank you! (I actually think I will bring my tent, that does look like a really nice option :) )
@gabriel Can I let you take over for the reservation details? I will loop you in the email thread with @KatiaDimova (thank you for all the answers, btw!). We also need to redo the poll for the coworking week, and make sure everyone is aware of the change of dates, and replied for both the coworking week and the conference week. Then also assign the rooms & garden, based on the preferences above (including @tikr 's dogs ).
This is awesome @antoviaque! I’m just double checking, but partners are welcome right? Just like Ali, I opted for a private room so my partner can join
@cassie Yup! As long as we have rooms (and large beds) enough for everyone, partners are definitely welcomed. From the survey above, it looks like it will be the case. This could also make for a nice romantic week
The best is to confirm this with @gabriel - (@gabriel maybe worth including this in the new attendance survey for the coworking week?)
From what I saw the best is to take a direct train from Paris, it takes ~3h from the city center, so maybe 3h30 from the airport (and should be a pretty nice trip through the French countryside ). There is a closer aiport in Caen, but it likely won’t have a lot of international flights going there, but it could still be worth checking.
