I’m all sorted as I have a ten-year US visa.
I’ve accepted by talk, there is no issue with me travelling to the US
@Agrendalath are you able to, so we can co-present as planned?
@gabriel Sure! Mine wasn’t, so I’m free to help with preparing the content too, if you want.
@cassie, sure thing - I have a valid US visa.
Yes, that works. Thank you.
An email arrived with a negative response to the emergency visa. Unfortunately, there is no other way to reschedule the appointment before the conference ![]()
. @rpenido and @navin have a good grasp of the topic. If one of you guys has a valid visa and can travel, I can transfer the talk.
@ChrisChV I don’t have US visa and the wait time for appointment here is 5-6 months, so I also cannot attend.
Mine wasn’t, so I’m free to help with preparing the content too, if you want.
That would actually be best, yep, since I’m quite busy for the next few weeks and TBH I wasn’t expecting to prepare the actual talk
I’d be happy to review, though. Would that work for you?
@gabriel It would still be worth coauthoring it imho, if you are available for that - and maybe contribute some parts of the talk, so that it can also remain your talk? Generally when the original proposer doesn’t attend, the presentation of the talk is delegated to someone else, but the person who proposed the talk remain in charge of it. We can discuss the scope and assignation on a task though.
@team I’ve created tickets for everyone who:
- Was accepted or
- Was designated as a replacement presenter or
- Who hasn’t yet confirmed either way
I’ve put them in the current sprint, but feel free to kick them forward if you’re able to complete the confirmation process in this one and want to deal with the plane ticket-buying later.
For Deathstar since their sprint is one week long, I just put it in next week.
If for some reason you haven’t gotten a ticket from me and either expect to attend the conference or are still unsure, ping me so I can get you one.
@antoviaque ok sure, we can coauthor it. I’ll be available from April 21 onward to prepare it—I’ll schedule a task today.
@Fox, I don’t see this ticket on my board.
My bad-- you should have one now!
@gabriel Great!
Thank you. Let me know if you would like me to prepare something before, as I will be on vacation from the 24th to the conference.
Oh, that’s good to know @antoviaque! I’m sorry that I can’t prepare the talk earlier. Would you like to gather your ideas in a doc and I will integrate them in the talk? The only caveat is the review process—you’ll be off during the review cycle, but I can ask someone else to help with the review, and perhaps you can make final adjustments when you get back?
@gabriel Sounds good, we can do that
I probably won’t have much time for adjustments at the conference, but I could still review & prep a little there. I will schedule a task to work on it, and ping you on it.
FTR: my talk proposal was rejected.
Mine was also rejected. I think there were a lot of similar talks.
@team You should have your tickets for planning your talk(s) at the conference. If you’re missing yours, please ping me here. If you have questions about the hours/assignee/reviewer setup for your ticket, ping me there for help.
