Anyone using Badging among our clients?

Does anyone know any of our clients that are using some form of OpenBadges, via Credly, Accredible, or some other service? I’d be especially keen if they’re using the Open edX credentials service’s badging integration, but if they’re using some other means, I’d like to know that as well.

I don’t know of anyone successfully using badging, but I looked into the Credly integration in response to this question on the forum last year, and the results weren’t great, because Badgr (free) was deprecated, and Credly cost $5/badge: Badges not showing up in Django admin - Site Operators - Open edX discussions

One of the clients is using Accredible, but without an integration with the Open edX. The way they set it up is they use native LMS certificates as a dummy with a link to Accredible. When a learner earns a passing grade, we ping their Salesforce instance, which then handles the integration with Accredible.

That’s interesting-- was that before the Accredible integration was added? I get the impression Credly was added first, but the Credentials service does Accredible now.

If Accredible integration was available, was there a reason why the Accredible integration didn’t meet expectations?

@Fox I didn’t know about credentials, I guess at the time I was looking for a direct plugin for LMS, because for the client it was important that the earned certificates are displayed in the LMS. Do you know how it work with credentials? I’m getting a feeling that it doesn’t integrate with LMS or learner-dashboard and learning MFEs, but instead has it’s own dedicated MFE - frontend-app-learner-records, which is intended to be used with programs (which might be another reason why we didn’t use it at the time - the client wasn’t committed to using programs) and relies on the discovery service. Finally, I think the client decided that they want everything to go through the Salesforce, including the certificates, so they settled on the current workflow.

I will bring this up with the client, perhaps they would be interested in it now, not only for the integration with the Accredible, but also because they are using the programs now and are interested in better UI, so perhaps this MFE (together with the credentials service) would be of interest to them.
