Hi everyone, I thought I’d post this here so we can discuss if OpenCraft wants to submit any accomplishments from this last year

Any ideas? Proposals?

Just a note the deadline for this is 5 Oct. cc. @jordan as I know you’re thinking about it ![]()
@cassie Good idea!
How about highlighting some of the work @gabor @braden along with people from Edunext have been doing in the Large Instances working group, to collaborate more on the hosting of Open edX instances?
Maybe highlighting some of the contributions Ethiopian contributors have done, if there is anything substantial, along with the training we give on that? CC @paulo @kaustav
And it would definitely be worth scheduling a proper task to review our contributions over the past year (Jira & github tickets, product proposals, WG activity, core contributors & maintainers activity, etc.)
The work done on Typesense was very intense and fruitful I feel more context on: Log in - OpenCraft then we did a lot of research and refactor to include notifications which was done as a part of: Log in - OpenCraft.
I’ll have to double-check the tickets, but I’m afraid there were only a few small contributions.
Hey @cassie! I like Large Instances working group idea. I think it’s a good angle. Also, the work we did on the Market Leading Courses looks very interesting, but I’m not sure if there was a community contribution. @Fox could share more there.
To me, it seems like the biggest community contribution might be Pathways? I know it’s not yet complete, but it’s been a big undertaking/effort already. I think with it’s impending release it could actually be good to get more eyes on it in the report before release? Since we can’t talk about user impact, we could focus more on the why and what goes into making something like this a reality. Just a thought..
@jordan I have my hands full today and am off tomorrow. The deadline is for this is Monday. Would you have time to draft a message to Axim with all these ideas? Or any other takers?
We’re putting together the 2026 Open edX Platform Impact Report, and we’d love to spotlight a few community accomplishments from July 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026. Nominate a colleague, a fellow contributor, or a project that deserves recognition by emailing oscm@openedx.org by October 5th. Be sure to provide the names of those involved and a brief description of the project and its impact.
@paulo They might still be worth mentioning, as it’s an important step in any case, and showcases the first results of the training.
A lot of things got contributed by the Market Leading Courses project, though the best is yet to come. The PDF block was upstreamed and is now a standard block available to all courses. Several plugin slots were added to accommodate the UX customizations they wanted.
There are a number of in-flight proposals that are going to be major improvements, but they haven’t quite landed yet:
I don’t know if any of these qualify, but they’re worth noting.
