@Fox I just want to confirm whether there is a total budget we should aim for for our flights (Salt Lake + Vietnam)? I saw a budget for the conference flights, but I’m not sure if that includes the cowork week as well.
@cassie Hi Cassie! If you’re going to the conference, it’s a separate task/budget for the flight to Salt Lake. So it would be a one way ticket to Salt Lake. Then it’s another task/budget for the Salt Lake → Danang and Danang → Home. The conference flight budget doesn’t include the coworking week flights, it’s just the one way flight to Salt Lake.
The coworking week flight is budgeted at €1400 per person which is on top of the one way flight to Salt Lake for those attending the conference. This budget takes into consideration though that those leaving to Danang from Salt Lake will have to pay a bit more as the flight options are limited, while other team members going directly to the coworking week can likely find better options.
Let me know if this makes sense ![]()
What @jordan said is correct. The budgets are separate. There isn’t a set requirement for your ticket to be under, though we did budget that the average per person would be around $1000 USD. I did expect a large portion to be coming from Canada and the US (Jordan, myself, Pooja, maybe Gabriel but it seems not this time), pulling that average down with costs in the low to mid hundreds, and I expect yours to be higher, perhaps significantly so.
Follow the standard parameters (such as using a flight aggregator to find a good deal). In your case, since you’re coming from SA, that’s going to be a pretty long flight and you should likely go for non-stop, whereas other team members with less arduous flights might be requested to take a layover or two if it drops the price significantly.
I do need to know the final cost of your flight so we can track real expenses. So be sure to let me know on the ticket (and forward your receipt to Gabriel using billing at opencraft.com)
