Secret Santa

Unfortunately, I wasn’t at home when the courier first tried to deliver my gift package, but I got it yesterday, and I was shocked by how big it was!

I asked for something local to whoever was sending it, and @kaustav did not disappoint. He sent not one or two, but seven different items with a small write-up to go with it. Art, crafts, decor, music and food were all covered!

Thank you for your very thoughtful and plentiful gifts. I don’t have much musical talent, but I still get excited when I learn of new musical instruments, I had heard of but never seen or used an Ektara before. I will check out someone playing it. The Gur Sandesh was amazing, both of us loved it!

I am quite fond of clay cups as well. I have some, but they are quite different from these ones.

I loved each and every thing you have sent. Thanks for the gifts, I will be enjoying them for a long time.

Yay - I was a successfully sneaky Secret Santa!!!

I’m so glad you like the book—I remember you mentioning something in South Africa about being interested in mushrooms, so I went with it! :mushroom:

@kshitij For a moment I thought I had put in the wrong address, when the courier said - no such consignee found. I guess they just meant no one was home at the moment. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyways, I am really glad you got the gifts and also liked them.

I had to be really careful when picking out the items to make sure they were specifically from Bengal and were not easily available in other states. Thankfully my sister who lives in Gujarat helped me choose based on what was not available there.

Ho ho ho !! My gift from my secret santa has arrived :santa: :gift:
(atleast I think it is from my secret santa, since I didn’t order it )

It’s an “artisinal” dark chocolate containing pepper, lime and orange. Quite an unique flavour for a chocolate. I loved it and of course polished it off quite quickly.

There was no hint at all as to who sent it to me, so I have nothing to go on here for my guess.

Thanks a lot to my secret santa, may you please reveal :magic_wand: your identity now.

I got my gift!! :grinning:
It was delivered a bit earlier last week, but I only had time to go to my parent’s house to collect it yesterday!

It is a book by Roberto Bolaño, so it must be from @daniel.valenzuela?

I am really happy about the surprise and eager to start reading it!!
Thanks for the choice!

Whoo hoo !! The gifts keep on coming from my secret santa this year !!

I just got a wonderful animal calendar and a pack of fun animal stickers to go along with it.

The calendar contains beautiful shots of wildlife from frogs to elephants and everything in between.

The identitiy of my secret santa was revealed this time by the customs paperwork attached with the package and it is Arunmozhi.

@tecoholic Thank you so much for all the gifts. I really love it and because of this I will end up having a physical calendar in my room after a long time.

@kaustav I am happy you liked it. Because of international shipping, I couldn’t send any local food. But, I thought the yearly calendar from Melbourne Zoo would be a good local item. IIRC all those animals are in different zoos around Melbourne and the photos are submitted by the visitors.

@rpenido Lol the author was too much of a hint it seems.

I got my gift too! A book of piano classics for beginners, perfect for me :D but idk who it could be. Just throwing a dart but it may be @gabriel?

I got my gift!

This book is on my list of next-to-reads but I hadn’t picked it up yet, so thank you Secret Santa Claus!

Process of elimination leaves 5 possible people, and the package contained zero clues… so I’m going to have to guess. @rpenido was this you :interrobang:

My Secret Santa @antoviaque sent me a great gift :minidisc: !

This is a nice coincidence. Over the past few years, I’ve been enjoying Christmas music more than ever. There are so many Christmas albums out there, but I believe this one is a modern classic – a definite top pick. I’m not really a fan of Michael Bublé’s original music, but this album is really good. Thank you so much! I’ve spun it quite a few times already : )

@gabriel Ahah, yes you mentioned you wanted odd/weird music, and that seemed to be a good fit for Christmas :stuck_out_tongue: It was that or Tino Rossi!

But how did you figure out it was me?? Did Amazon put my name on it despite flagging it as a gift? Bastards!

They sure did! :person_shrugging:

I’m not sure who you are, but a note to my Secret Santa: I know my gift was delivered, but I will only be able to open it next week when I’m back in South Africa. Can’t wait! :star_struck:

It was me @daniel.valenzuela! But @gabriel was my accomplice in getting details from you

I’m happy that you liked it @jill! And you found your secret Santa on your first guess!

My original plan was to send some local groceries, but my customs office didn’t like it and returned the package!

I’ll try to sneak something to share with everyone on the Conference trip.

Lucky guess! Thank you so much @rpenido !

Oh no! I’m sorry your package got returned. But if your customs office didn’t like it, Australia’s definitely wouldn’t have… they’re pretty strict here. But glad you at least you got it back
