Social chats meetings

Falcon Social Chat - FAL.273

@falcon Let me know if the time works.
Everyone else is invited too!

@giovannicimolin Just out of curiosity, did the time and date of the social chat that was automatically scheduled for this sprint not work for you and the rest of @falcon?

@tikr I have a checklist item to schedule the social chat as FF and was just completing it. I wasn’t aware that we should be using the automated one now.

@giovannicimolin Ah OK, we’ll need to adjust the checklist then

I’ll create a ticket for next sprint in the coming days.

FYI @bebop @falcon @serenity: Social chats (and sprint retrospective meetings) are automatically scheduled for you, so as FF you just need to:

  1. Check the OpenCraft calendar for the time and date of the next social chat and see if you’d like to make any adjustments (so that you can attend).
  2. Pick a topic for the social chat of your cell and post it on the forum thread.

Update: I created BB-6259 for adjusting the checklist next sprint.

@maxim Reminder to bring up the question in regards to the account used for social chats.

I noticed this on my sprint checklist today (as FF):

Check the OpenCraft calendar for the time and date of the next social chat and make adjustments if required.
Also pick a topic for the social chat of your cell and post it on the forum thread.

I’m not sure we’re still doing this? I see we have two recurring social chat events on the calendar, and they don’t appear move from sprint to sprint now. Maybe this checklist item can be removed? cc @tikr @Fox

@samuel You’re right, that item is obsolete. I was going to delete it but ended up holding off when the Django admin presented me with a long list of related items to delete along with it:

Are you sure?

Are you sure you want to delete the checklist task definition “Check OpenCraft calendar for time & date of next social chat”? All of the following related items will be deleted:

Summary

  • Checklist task definitions: 1
  • Tagged task definitions: 1
  • Checklist tasks: 230
  • Tagged tasks: 230
  • Run trend task reports: 365

@Fox What do you think, would it be fine to delete all of these?

For reference, the main item to delete is from the definition of Week 1 - Wednesday (position 4).

Speaking of social chats, I’d love to join more often, but the PST times aren’t the best (7am and 11:30pm). Not sure if there is interest from anyone else in adjusting the time of one of these to get them more active? I think it’s great to have, especially if we could get more on.

Checklist task definitions should be deactivated rather than removed. There’s an ‘active’ checkbox you can uncheck to make sure the checklist item doesn’t show up on the next checklist run.

I’m game for moving the PM one later. It currently starts at 9AM for me. I had them start then for some overlap with Europe/Asia/Africa, but it may now be too out of whack for North and South America. Half the time, no one joins. What time would you be able to consistently join?

@Fox I’d join regularly any time past 8:00am PST. I normally start at 7am unless I have an earlier call, so pushing it even a bit later would be great.

@jordan Let’s do 9AM PST. Since it does seem it’s already pretty late for most of the folks in Europe/Asia, putting it at 9AM PST should put it very firmly within the reach of people on the NA/SA side of things. I think most of them are awake/active by that point. I’m pretty sure that should work for the likes of me, you, and @pooja . I’m curious if it’ll also work for @paulo , @ChrisChV , @daniel.valenzuela , @braden , and @rpenido .

Ah OK :light_bulb:

I unchecked that checkbox as well as the one for marking the item as ‘required’.

So from next sprint on it shouldn’t show up anymore.

I have set the social chat to be at 9AM Pacific. We’ll see if this works better.

@Fox Great, thanks! Looking forward to it.
