Hi everyone @opencraft! ![]()
We’re happy to announce that we’re all green to go for the Verawood upgrade! ![]()
Scheduling
If you’re a client owner, you should have a ticket on your backlog by now to “plan and create necessary tickets for Verawood”. Those tickets will have a list of steps to follow and items to check, and may be scheduled as soon as you like.

Upgrade guide
We have a detailed upgrade guide on google docs. This document also includes other tabs with troubleshooting notes, tutor plugins that have been tested, etc.
Please read through the upgrade guide carefully, especially since there are some gotchas to this upgrade. ![]()
Plugins compatibility
We have a spreadsheet of xblocks/plugins, along with information about versions to test and notes for any that have already been tested.
This is a useful reference, and please update it when you test your client-specific xblocks.
Sandboxes
There are 4 K8s clusters with a test instance on Verawood, one for each combination of Grove or Launchpad on DigitalOcean or AWS. See this doc for more information. Each was deployed as Ulmo, and upgraded to Verawood.
These may be freely used for testing. (eg. if you want a production-like sandbox to test an xblock).
Contacts
For any concerns/issues/etc. about this upgrade, the best contacts are probably myself and @tikr. I did the upgrade testing and am managing the upgrade epic, and Tim has been organising the xblock testing and structure of the upgrade tickets and timeline.
That’s all for now, happy upgrading! ![]()
