Hello! We’re looking to build a list of features that are frequently requested by the community (whether it be by clients, prospects, or anyone else).
We all interact with different people, teams, and organisations, so I expect we’ve each heard requests for features that seem to come up again and again from different sources.
Do any come to mind? If so, please share them here so we can keep track of them and get a better sense of which requests seem to recur across the community.

I see Elizabeth Gordon recently posted a question about importing Moodle courses into Open edX. This is also something I’ve heard people request in the past.
Hi Ali! In BizDev, we’d heard request for AI course generation quite a bit. I’m under the impression there are tools to do pieces of this currently, but not create a brand new live course from scratch with a prompt I guess.
We also get the request for choosing the server location on our shared hosting infrastructure. I think this was already addressed and won’t be possible – only on an independent installation.
We actually get lots of requests for Open edX training/mentoring for an org’s team. We do offer this, but we haven’t formalized the offering.
SIS integrations seems to pop up quite a bit. We can do the integration but I think there’s a demand for alternative solutions here. I think the need is for an open-source SIS. They do exist but are not commonly used.
Local hosting of Open edX has popped up a few times now. I think the demand will become even greater for this, and it’s basically the topic of the OEB conference in Dec. It’s a bigger discussion around data sovereignty. It’s certainly possible to host it locally but not easy.
We get a lot of requests for live classes. Zoom works through LTI, but I feel like there’s room for improvement here/other options.
