2024 Co-Working Week in Hermanus

@jill Were you interested in doing the Cape Town day trip too ? (Asking because I was under the impression that you had voted NO in the polls)

If so, I’ll share your name and email with Cay too.

My apologies… yes, I’ve changed my mind on the Cape Town trip too, and want to do that and Kruger. YOLO, and all

I’m planning for my partner to join me this time, and I’m waiting on coordination from her office about leaves etc. So I’d like to do the Kruger trip, but not sure as of now.

@team

Just a reminder to fill in this spreadsheet as soon as possible. I’ve added in a column to let us know if your partner is coming too :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @kshitij , it would be great if you and your partner can join us at Kruger! But I think we need to know pretty quickly, because the size of the group determines where we can stay. We’ve already maxed out the first place Cay quoted us for, and she’s had to look for others

@team Just a note  OpenCraft will cover costs for your partner’s accommodation, but things like the team dinner, and shuttle, to and from Hermanus, won’t be covered.

Hiya team – @kaustav and @DouglasDraper have done a great job planning our Cape Town and Kruger Park trips with Cay, but I think it’s getting confusing… the email threads are pretty chaotic. Currently Cay doesn’t even know for sure how many people are coming to each activity!

Would somebody be willing to take point on each of these activities and be the main point of contact for her?

I’m happy to take up either one, but don’t want to step on any toes

Thanks for offering to take this on! :grinning:

We’d like to join, but we’ll be at Hermanus till 15th, and would only be looking to do a 3-day stay at Kruger, not 5 days, so I think we’d need to look into the logistics of that.

Sure thing

@kaustav from your latest reply, it sounds like you’ve got the best handle on the Kruger trip?

So I can help with the Cape Town day trip. Will use the responses in our Actual Costs spreadsheet – could everyone please make sure they’ve updated it? Thank you @cassie – I see you’ve already pinged everyone

I’m so glad you and your wife are staying a while! I’m looking forward to meeting her

And I’m sure Cay can help you with planning if you need? Just need to be clear that yours would be separate from the other trip.

Thanks @jill for taking this on. Hopefully this helps speed things along and also is easier for Cay to keep track.

@kshitij I am so glad you will be joining the Kruger trip as well. I just looped you into our ongoing email thread on that trip.

Cay had shared options for 3 days stay earlier in one of the lodges in Kruger.

Quote DougKaustav - Kruger.pdf (3.6 MB)

She has since shared a few more options (though all for 5 days) in that email thread, but I think those other lodges should have options for 3 days stay as well. Could you please confirm to her your preferences for the trip.

I sent a mail to Cay a short while ago and got a response. My main concern was that I might have different dates since I’ll be in Hermanus an extra day.

I’ll go through the email thread and see what’s developed.

Thanks @jill and @kaustav for taking point on this. Shout if you have any questions

If I understand correctly, you will be checking out of Hermanus and flying to Kruger on 15th. Is that correct ?

If so, then our start dates match perfectly, since we will be flying to Kruger on the 15th too. It’s just that we will be spending one night in Cape Town.

Hello! Cay is finalizing the details for our Cape Town day trip on 14 July. We’ve got 17 people now (yay!) which means we need a larger bus than originally planned, so we need to be sure of our numbers.

Could everyone please check her spreadsheet to ensure that your responses in columns F (Cape town day trip?), H (Partner joining?), and I (Need hotel 14 July?) are filled in correctly?

Thank you!

@jill Thanks for taking care of this admin. You guys are going to have a great time in Cape Town!

Heads up: I think that link might be missing a “T” at the end; I get a “page not found” error when I click it. If I add a “T” to the end, the link works but I don’t have permission to access it.

I have a few quotes from different shuttle companies, so please let me know once the numbers are finalised so I can book the shuttles. :bus: :bus: :bus:

Oops! Fixed.

We’ve got 17 people total booked for the Cape Town day trip, but I’m not sure if anyone else wants a trip to the airport that day too?

Thanks for fixing the link; I’ve just requested access.

It looks like most of the team will be travelling to Cape Town that day. There are just some tricky logistics we’ll have to figure out:

  • The shuttles only fit 13 people
  • The budget only allows for 2 shuttles, and only for OpenCraft team members (not their partners)
  • The day trippers will need to leave veeery early to get to the starting point of the day trip, so it would be ideal if the second shuttle could leave later in the day

I’ll have a think on this and try to figure out the best solution.

Thanks @Jill Vogel . Yes! If that is a shuttle from Hermanus on the morning of the 14th to the airport to join the Cape Town tour (sorry if I’ve got this confused!).
