Activities - Coworking week & Conference 2025

Here’s a fresh thread dedicated to planning & organizing activities during the 2025 coworking week & conference.

Here is a document you can edit to add and organize activities during the trip. I’ve added a few suggestions to start!

Wanna Visit the Louvre?

My partner and I are keen to check out the Louvre. The more, the merrier!

I think the last day of the conference (Friday, July 4) is our best option. It’s bound to be busy whenever we go, but apparently 3pm is a good time to aim for. Fridays are generally less crowded (says the internet), and the museum stays open until 9pm.

We’re going to buy our tickets ahead of time.

Apart from Louvre there is a museum just opposite to it called Musee d’Orsay, this also seems to be a must-visit museum

@Ali If you’re going that late I probably won’t come as I need to be at the airport around 6pm.

BUT one place I’d love to see is Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy… look at this place:

This is all so exciting!

Just FYI we do have programming on Friday, July 4th, and the conference venue is a bit away from the Louvre. Going at 3 pm would definitely miss the piñata celebration!

Oh wow !! Looking at the photos, this place immediately reminded me of Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings. I looked it up on the internet, and apparently Mont-Saint-Michel was actually the inspiration behind it.

I would definitely love to visit this one. Hopefully it’s as beautiful in real life as in the photos.

Oh wow, me too! That place looks insanely gorgeous.

@KatiaDimova if people want to visit Mont-Saint-Michel (or any other location, for that matter), is there a local bus or coach service you can recommend? Is this something you’ve assisted with before?

I’m game. I added myself to the list! This is for the first Friday during the coworking week, right? The listing in the document isn’t clear. Nevermind, I misread-- yes, it’s clearly at the end of the coworking week. I’ll go!

It looks beautiful, I’m in too! :raised_hands:

I definitely recommend visiting Mont Saint Michel. It’s a half-day to a full day trip depending on how much time you want to spend there, maybe have lunch etc. Keep in mind that in June the days in Normandy are veeery long, it only gets dark afetr 10.30pm

Unfortunately, there is not really public transport, but it’s a very easy drive (1h30min max and mainly on a highway type of road). Best is to rent a car for the day, you can even rent a 9 steater van from the town next to us (check Super U Sainte Mere Eglise location voiture).
Alternatively there are tour guides who can take you there and they can often take up to 6 people at a time and also give you a proper historical visit. I can connect you with some of them if you are interested in this option.

This is the Notion Page for our coliving guests - most of the information about the life at the Chateau doesn’t concern your group, but there is a section with recommendations of things to visit and do in the region, which might be interesting.
Keep in mind that when we are in coliving season people come for a minimum of 1 month, so they have a lot more time. If you have to pick only 1 day trip I would say definitely Mont Saint Michel and second place Bayeaux.

OpenCraft Photo Shoot :camera_flash:

Guillaume Auray, a fantastic French photographer (just 'cos, it’s fun to say!), will be joining us at the Château on the Thursday of coworking week to take photos of the team.

The main goal is to build a collection of authentic images to replace the stock photos on our site, and to give anyone who’s interested the chance to have a professional photo taken for their avatar. Most of the shots will be candid — capturing us working and interacting — so no need to worry if you’re a bit camera-shy!

  • Date: Thursday, 26 June
  • Location: Château de L’Isle Marie
  • Time: Mid-morning to early evening

Recommendations from Guillaume

1) Try not to all dress in the same way! (For example, avoid everyone wearing a black t-shirt and black pants…). Dare to wear bright and vivid color if it matches your personality, and don’t be afraid to wear patterns (stripes, checks, etc…). All these details help create images that are vibrant, that captivate, that convey energy and leave a lasting impression.

2) For the portraits of your team members (especially for women), a bit of makeup is very helpful to achieve matte skin and avoid reflections ! Remember to bring clothing accessories : hairpins, scarves, jewelry, earrings, bracelets, watches… For men, while keeping it natural, try to have a well-groomed and trimmed beard for the big day, and the same goes for your hair. These details contribute to the perceived quality of your company as well.

3) Finally, don’t hesitate to bring anything related to your company. I’m, of course, referring to your work equipment (laptop, screen, headphone, cables etc…), but also branded merchandise like mugs, t-shirts, pen, notebook etc…, to dress up and complete the image if possible with your logo. For your « moments in between », Anything that can help create interaction between you is welcome: a soccer ball, games, frisbee and so on …

P.s. @gabriel I’ve added this as an “activity” to the Google Doc you created.

FYI visiting the enclave is free, but parking is not, and we also need to reserve tickets to enter the Abbey itself. It takes 45m - 1h to walk from the parking lots up the Mont to the Abbey entrance, and the walk looks amazing.

@KatiaDimova Can you cross the footbridge to Mont St Michel at high tide? I would guess so, but when I search, some say yes, some say no. According to the schedule, low tide on Fri 27th is around 16:15, with the high tide peaking after 21:30.

Thanks @jill for finding this out!

Yes, you can cross the bridge on foot regardless of the tide and there is also a free shuttle. We usually like to walk towards it as the view is beautiful and then come back to car with the shuttle.
Some people also like to leave really early in the morning and get there before the crowds. It is very beautiful either way
