You all know Hunter. He’s on most every call I do, always wanting to have his say! But here are some fun photos of him.
Hunter is incredibly cuddly. He loves following me around and lounging next to me. Some days he demands to be picked up and held, or else he will not stop meowling.
These old ladies, Shanti (left) and Brune, just got back from a bath so I thought this would be a good opportunity to post a picture of them here.
Unfortunately, Brune had three seizures in the past few days, and we are still unable to find out why. It seems to be under control after starting medication, and she’ll go through a few exams in the next weeks to evaluate neurological tumors or infection as possible causes.
If you’re interested, go and check out the #pets channel on the Open edX Slack team – you’ll see cats and dogs, but also goats, horses, a donkey, and more
There are a million places where people can post this stuff publicly so I think it’s fair to keep this public. People can always post it on a public forum and link here, so I think moving this to private sounds good.
Maybe create a separate private thread if there are pictures you wouldn’t want to post publicly? Which is OK, but I would keep the existing thread public - there is no reason to make the rest of the posts private.
Also note that posting privately means other people from the community won’t be able to participate - it’s also nice to be able to share things aside from work with the rest of the community. It can be less comfortable to talk in public, at least at first, but this is an important skill & comfort zone to develop as open source developers - that’s why we have a whole page about this in the handbook :)
That makes sense! I will create one when I want to share something that I don’t feel belongs in a public thread.
It’s less about that and more about how good Opencraft’s forum visibility is (uhuuul!).
Googling my name shows this post on the first page, and I wouldn’t want photos of my home or anything too personal to be easily accessible as such.
But, enough meta talk! Here is Vicky showing all her “mango fiber” style:
